Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team providing specialized gender-affirming care to adult and adolescent patients. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of transgender and gender-diverse adults, youth, and their families in a supportive, affirming healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing care for pediatric patients seeking gender-affirming treatment
Prescribe and monitor hormone therapy and puberty blockers in accordance with established best practice clinical guidelines
Provide patient and family education regarding treatment options, risks, benefits, and expectations
Maintain detailed documentation and follow evidence-based treatment protocols
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric nurse practitioners, external consultants, and administrative staff
Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings
Required Qualifications
Current and unrestricted Maryland license as FNP, WHNP, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant
Additional state licenses preferred: Virginia, District of Columbia, & Delaware
Up-to-date board certification in respective specialty
Valid DEA registration
Experience providing gender-affirming healthcare
Commitment to providing culturally competent, affirming care to LGBTQ+ youth
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in gender-affirming care or endocrinology
Competency in administering histrelin implants (Supprelin LA)
Experience with leuprolide acetate (Lupron) injections and monitoring
Knowledge of WPATH Standards of Care and Endocrine Society guidelines
Additional training or certification in transgender healthcare
