Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team providing specialized gender-affirming care to adult and adolescent patients. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of transgender and gender-diverse adults, youth, and their families in a supportive, affirming healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide ongoing care for pediatric patients seeking gender-affirming treatment

  • Prescribe and monitor hormone therapy and puberty blockers in accordance with established best practice clinical guidelines

  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment options, risks, benefits, and expectations

  • Maintain detailed documentation and follow evidence-based treatment protocols

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric nurse practitioners, external consultants, and administrative staff

  • Participate in case conferences and treatment planning meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Maryland license as FNP, WHNP, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant

  • Additional state licenses preferred: Virginia, District of Columbia, & Delaware

  • Up-to-date board certification in respective specialty

  • Valid DEA registration

  • Experience providing gender-affirming healthcare

  • Commitment to providing culturally competent, affirming care to LGBTQ+ youth

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in gender-affirming care or endocrinology

  • Competency in administering histrelin implants (Supprelin LA)

  • Experience with leuprolide acetate (Lupron) injections and monitoring

  • Knowledge of WPATH Standards of Care and Endocrine Society guidelines

  • Additional training or certification in transgender healthcare
